Mehmet Orel, who designed the Pal Up sofa, designed as a continuation of the Paloma series, also pays homage to Gaetono Pesce with this design. While designing the Up series, Pesce made references to the place and bondage of women in the patriarchal order. Mehmet Orel, on the other hand, creates the Pal Up series by referring to Gaetono Pesce's Up series in the continuation of the series he named Paloma, the Spanish word for the dove symbolizing freedom. With this series, he wanted to show his respect to Gaetano Pesce and create a symbol for the end of female bondage.
