Our rugs, designed in-house with hand-drawn artwork, travel to a rural Indian community where skilled artisans use traditional techniques passed down through generations to craft them. Each rug takes up to four months to create and is made to last.
Our creative design team draws inspiration from diverse design styles, art movements, and trends, as well as the interiors of our Houses and partners, to craft unique art pieces, patterns, colors, and styles.
In rural India, our network of artisans passionately preserves traditional craftsmanship deeply rooted in community support. Yarn is meticulously spun into threads using time-honored methods, ensuring they are primed for the loom and have stood the test of time.
These threads are then intricately hand-knotted, hand-woven, or hand-tufted, defining each rug’s distinctive style, exceptional quality, and enduring durability.
Our hand-knotted rugs experience sun-drying during material practice and weaving. This crucial step defines their final appearance and texture, imparting a soft glow while ensuring long-term resistance to shrinkage and shedding.
In the art of hand-tufted rugs, artisans use specialized tools to carve into the pile, defining each design thread by thread. They carefully trim loose ends and hand-finish fringing and binding along the edges, ensuring stability and longevity with a bespoke touch.
