Guitar Rug, together with its twin from the same collection, Joggler Rug, recounts the complexity of the figure of the jester, attempting to retrain this figure from the common epithet of the idler. Guitar represents the musician who, thanks to his lute or guitar, improvises tales, stories, melodies, magically transforming reality into fantasy. Through Elena Salmistraro's representational syntax of recurring geometric shapes and pastel colours, she wants to narrate the art of entertainment and creative freedom.
Rectangular carpet hand-knotted by Nepalese craftsmen at 152,000 knots/sqm. 50% silk and 50% Himalayan wool, fibres dyed with vegetable and mineral pigments. Base 0.05 cm high, pattern 0.07 cm.

After graduating from the Milan Polytechnic, Elena Salmistraro founded her design studio together with the architect Angelo Stoli. With him she followed several architectural and design projects. Later, her work has focused more on the creation of products than architecture; in fact she boasts collaborations with important companies such as: Bosa, Alessi, Seletti, CC-Tapis, Nason Moretti and many others. Her projects are the result of the union between art and design, in which each detail aims to reach harmony in the shapes and a style that is both poetic and distinctive. The focus of every work is on arousing emotions in people: objects can speak an evident and evocative expressive language.
